Levon Bardakjian was born on 1954, July 29, in Aleppo, Syria.
He received his early education in Sahagian elementary school, and later on at the American College of Aleppo.
In 1975, he studied in Haigazian College in Beirut, Lebanon.
In 1978, he immigrated to the United States.
In 1988, he received his Bachelors degree from Azusa Pacific University majored in Religion.
In 1991, he received his Masters degree from Fuller Theological Seminary, having specialized in church planting and growth.
Levon Bardakjian’s parents along with his brother and sisters have created a secure, comfortable, and prosperous life and a profitable business in the United States with their unlimited industrious character and God’s will.
But Pastor Bardakjian heeded to God’s call and preferred to serve God in his motherland.
He became the first representative of the Armenian Missionary Association of America in Armenia.
On the 24th of October, 1991 he has moved to Armenia with his wife and 3 daughters.
During the first most difficult years of independence of Armenia, when the country was in war and economical blocade, the Bardakjian family was one of the first immigrated families, who shared the cold and dark days with their people.
From the very beginning he oversaw the construction of AMAA’s building and simultaneously ran different small and big humanitarian programs such as:
• food distribution
• organization of a free medical treatment clinic
• taking care of 1500 children in Guymri and Spitak (providing each of them 20 US
dollars per month)
• organization of the leisure time for hundreds of children and adults in Dzakhadzor and
Arzni
He founded the AMAA chapters in Gumri, Vanadzor and Stepanavan.
- He was a founding board member of the Armenian Bible Society of Armenia.
- He was one of the original organizers of Jinishian Foundation in Yerevan
- A board member of Haigazian University of Armenia
- Facilitated the establishment of the Gedeon organization within Armenia
In 1994, he was the founding pastor of the Evangelical Church of Yerevan (ECY).
In 1994 he was also the founder president of the Christian Cultural Ministries
International (CCMI), a non-profit organization.
In 1999, in recognition of his patriotic contributions, he was awarded an honorary citizenship of Nagorno-Karapagh.
Since 1999, he is the general director of the Avedis TV station in Armenia.
In 2001, he founded the Armenian Branch of the Christian Business Committee.
In February 2002, he received his D. Min. in Ministry from Azusa
Pacific University. His thesis was in “Effective Methods and Factors that can Strengthen the Witness of the Armenian People”.
From June 2004, he is the general director of the Etchmiadzin TV station.
He is married and has four children.
Today, Dr. /Rev. Levon Bardakjian, having concluded the first 55 years of his life, is very content. With the support and encouragement of his family and many supporters, he will continue to seek God’s guidance in all activities that he embarks on.
